NY Giants

The New York Giants organization began in 1925, and their home field is Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The team can have 53 players on their roster, but only have 45 members dressed to play at each game.

The regular season of play consists of a 17 week schedule. Each team has a bye week, and in actuality, plays only 16 games. The season begins on a Thursday night right after Labor Day and goes until late December or early January. Most teams are in the Eastern Time Zone, a part of the U.S. with 16 teams followed by 10 in the Central Time Zone and 6 teams in the Mountain and pacific Time Zones.

The Giants stadium is the ninth oldest stadium used by NFL teams. In 2010, the stadium will close and be torn down when a brand new state of the art stadium will open as the Meadowlands Stadium.

Head coach for the Giants is Tom Coughlin. He worked his way through several positions and colleges until he became head coach for the Giants in 2004, and is still in that position today. When he was an assistant to Bill Parcell’s the Giants won the Super Bowl XXV.

Eli Manning is the lead quarterback for the Giants and is in this sixth season. He has run for yards and made three touchdowns.

Tickets for the NY Giants home games are no longer available through the box office, as they are sold out. However, tickets can be purchased from other ticket holders. It is a safe and secure way to purchase tickets.
